Homemade Soup Anyone?

"Bowl of Fresh Veggies" Oil on Canvas, 8"x10", Original Painting , SOLD

Today's painting was painted in the basement of our new home several weeks ago. It's a still life of a wooden bowl filled with lots of delicious veggies from onions to peppers. I'm feeling kind of hungry. Homemade soup anyone?

But oh my goodness! Have you any idea why I'm so super excited !? It's because Tomorrow  marks the first day of Leslie Saeta's 30 paintings in 30 days painting challenge, which I am participating in! I've got my canvases ready. I've got my brushes ready. And I've also got my illustration board and pastels ready! So here we go . . . It's going to be an exciting 30 days and I hope to produce some pretty amazing artwork for the next 30 days!

So . . . stay tuned and keep visiting us here on the blog of SamDoum art. It's gonna be a blast!

'Til later fellow art lovers! Take care and God bless!

5th Pittsford Home Portrait in the Pittsford Home Series, Part II

Finished 5th Pittsford Home Portrait in the Pittsford Home Series

Hello fellow art lovers! This is the finished painting of the 5th home in my Pittsford Home Series. I really love how this one came out--and of course, I couldn't resist, I haaaaad to "blue up" the sky. When I took the reference photo for this piece, the sky was a little, well a lot of, cloudy.  And so, I just wanted to make the colors seem more rich and vibrant, so I brightened things up a little. Here, below, is the original photograph.

Not too bad 'eh? Came out pretty good, I think. I'm thinking about doing an art show, showcasing all of these homes that I've been painting and inviting my neighbors (whom these home belong to). I think it would be so cool for all of them to see all the homes on our street, painted, and showcased on the walls of one place, during an art show. I'm also thinking about doing a calendar titled 'The Pittsford Home Series: Englewood Hill' (the name of our street).

All that being said, and switching gears, in my next post, I have a bit of a surprise. For one person, I should say. I've painted something really special for someone that I love very much and tomorrow, in my next post, I will unveil that painting . . . so stay tuned. Until then, 'til later fellow art lovers! May God continue to bless you and I hope that you have a wonderful rest of the day! :) Enjoy!

Hello fellow art lovers!

As promised in my last blog post, I have the fourth finished painting in my Pittsford Home Series for you! The colors were a little dull in the actual photo that I used as a reference, so I hope you don't mind that I brightened up the colors a bit more than the actual photograph. I think this one came out pretty well though. What do you think? Please take a look below:

3rd Pittsford Home Portrait in the Pittsford Home Series, Part II

Happy Saturday! The weekend is here, and before you begin your day, I'd like to show you an update on how the third home in my "Pittsford Home Series" is going. Please see below:

1st update on the 3rd home in my Pittsford Home Series
As you can see, I have already started laying out some color and have already begun to add some detail to items like the chimney, the door jamb area, and the windows. But I didn't stop there. Here (below) you can see my next update on how the progress is going:

2nd update on the third home in my Pittsford Home Series
As you can see in the pastel painting above, I added more architectural details to the house and began blocking out color in the landscaping areas. I think by the next time I post, I should be done with this one. How do you think it's coming out? Write me a comment in the comments section and let me know.

Alrighty, that's all for now from SamDoum Art. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

'Til later fellow art lovers!
