Day 27: 30 in 30: Every and Anything Series

"Sunflowers & a Daisy" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 10", Original Painting FOR SALE: $75.00 + $10.95 S&H

Hello everyone! It's January 27, 2015 and today is Day 27 of my 30 Painting's in 30 Days Painting Challenge!

My theme for this 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge is "Every and Anything" and over the next 3 days I will be painting every and anything from landscapes, to pet portraits; from people portraits, to still lifes; and so forth! (To learn more about why I chose this theme click HERE.)

This is a still life oil painting of several sunflowers & a daisy. I love the restricted color palette most about this piece: the yellows, the browns, the whites, and the little hints of green on the leaves and stems of the flowers.

I see this piece as peaceful, calm, subtle, sunny, and soothing. It just creates that sort of mood in me when I look at it. It just gives me a "quiet" smile when I look at it. It makes me happy!

I hope it does the same for you! :)

Anyway, tomorrow is Day 28! And then after that, I will be posting only two more paintings for this challenge! Can you believe it? We are almost there . . . Yay!

I'll see you tomorrow for Day 28! 'Til then, and 'til later fellow art lovers! Take care, and God bless!

Squirrel Climbing Tree

"Squirrel Climbing Tree" Pastel on Illustration Board, 8"x 10",
Original Painting FOR SALE: $75.00 + $10.95 S&H
Hello everyone!

Today's painting is of a cute, little squirrel climbing a tree, and this little painting was done in pastels, as opposed to all the oil paint I've been using lately.

My husband says that he loves my oil paintings more than my pastel work, but I kind of like them both. Pastels are my favorite medium to work in. I just love forming lines, shapes, and colors with them, blending and smudging. I love pastels because this media allows you to be hands on, if you will, with the painting. With painting there's usually a tool (your paint brush or palette knife) between you and the painting. But pastels allow you to kind of dive in and become one with you art work. Though it can be kind of messy and though it's kind of hard to get your nails clean after you've been using them, I still just loooove pastels, and I love the way they feel in my hands. Hard to explain but its a good feeling.

Sometimes I feel like I have more control over my pastels then I do with a paint brush, when it comes to how my painting comes out. I guess that's because with pastels, there's no tool between me and the painting I'm working on, as I've already mentioned.

Anyway, I do hope you enjoy this brown, little, furry, friendly squirrel of mine. She's definitely a cutie! What d'you think?

Take care fellow art lovers and God bless!

Original 8x10 Pastel Painting For Sale - "Elegant Horse" : $50.00+ $6.95 Shipping and  Handling
Hello everyone!

Its Day 29 of the Leslie Saeta January 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge and I have my new 29th animal painting for you today! This one is of a tanish-brown elegant horse whose photo I found online. She's such a beautiful little horse, so I just had to paint her picture!

Tomorrow will  be the last day of the challenge! Can you believe it? After tomorrow, I, and all of the something of about maybe 400 other artist who've participated, will have completed 30 paintings in 30 days non stop! So exciting! We did it again!

This is only my second Leslie Saeta Challenge, but I do plan to keep doing them because the more I paint, the  better I continue to grow, as and artist. My father was telling me the day before yesterday that he could see that my painting skills have grown, and I owe that to Leslie Saeta because painting everyday has allowed me to develop my skills even more. And as they say, practice makes perfect!

Anyway, that said, I just wanted to thank all of you who have supported SamDoum Art. Whether you continue to visit my blog just to check up on whats going on with SamDoum Art, whether you leave comments in the comments section of this blog or Facebook, or whether you have "liked" any of my paintings on Facebook, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you! Thanks so much for helping me to get the word out about SamDoum Art! Please continue to "like", "share", and "comment"! Thanks so much!

Well, that's all for now from SamDoum Art! Take care and God bless!

'Til later fellow art lovers!

Hello everyone!
