Day 11: 30 in 30: Every and Anything Series

"Whole and Sliced Pomegranate," Oil on Canvas, 8"x10", Original Painting FOR SALE: $75.00 +
 $10.95 S&H
Hello everyone! It's January 11th, 2015 and today is Day 11 of my 30 Painting's in 30 Days Painting Challenge!

My theme for this 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge is "Every and Anything" and over the next 19 days I will be painting every and anything from landscapes, to pet portraits; from people portraits, to still lifes; and so forth! (To learn more about why I chose this theme click HERE.)

Today's painting is a still life of two red pomegranates : whole and sliced.

I've been doing a lot of still lifes recently, but I've been thinking about switching gears and doing some more kaleidoscopic snowflakes.

So far in this challenge I've mostly done still lifes, but I want to mix things up a bit and do some different types of paintings: not just more kaleidoscopes, but perhaps, some landscapes and some portraits.

So tomorrow I'll post another kaleidoscopic painting, and maybe a few more after that, then  in the days ahead, I'll do some portraits of my three little girls and also some landscapes, I'm thinking.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy today's painting. I've never been a big fan of pomegranates, but they sure are pretty!

Alright, well, that's all for now from the Blog of SamDoum Art. Thanks so much for visting my blog today! Take care and God bless! 'Til later fellow art lovers!

So far, this is my fourth challenge, and I usually do a theme when I do these challenges: In my first challenge, I did "Kaleidoscopic Snowflakes". In my second challenge, I did "Animals and Wildlife", and in my last challenge, I did "Still Lifes of Metal and Glass."

My theme for this 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge, however, will be "Every and Anything"

Over the next 30 days, I will be painting every and anything from landscapes, to pet portraits; from people portraits, to still lifes; and so forth! (To learn more about why I chose this theme click HERE.)

Day 1's painting is a beautiful, colorful still life, featuring bright red peppers with a greenish blue cup/bowl. I really love the colors in this one and the brightness of the peppers. This painting would look great in anyone's kitchen!

Tomorrow, for Day 2's 30 in 30, I will be unveiling another "Every and Anything" painting, so stay tuned . . .

Until then, 'Til later fellow art lovers! Take care, and God bless!

Day 27 of 30 in 30 : "Red & Blue Marbles"

"Red & Blue Marbles" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 10", Original Painting,  $30+$10.95 Shipping & Handling

Today marks the twenty-seventh day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you my twenty-seventh oil painting for the challenge titled "Red & Blue Marbles" !

"Red & Blue Marbles" is the twenty-seventh oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next three days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

Wow! I really like how this one came out! I've never painted marbles before, but they are really fun to paint and I enjoyed every moment of the experience. Painting marbles are really fun and I think that I will probably be painting more of them in the future! :)

In other news, I've recently been working really hard trying to build my art portfolio, submitting works to local galleries, and entering art competitions. So far I've gotten into one of the local galleries, here in Rochester, NY. And I am waiting on word from another Gallery in Clifton Springs New York. So, wish me luck! :)

Anyway, I wish everyone a great Saturday! Enjoy your weekend! 'Til later fellow art lovers! Take care and God bless!

Day 22 of 30 in 30 : "Lemons, Glass, and Red Cloth"

"Lemons, Glass, and Red Cloth" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 10", Original Painting,  $25+$10.95 Shipping & Handling

Today marks the twenty-second day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you my twenty-second oil painting for the challenge titled "Lemons, Glass, and Red Cloth" !

"Lemons, Glass, and Red Cloth" is the twenty-second oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next 8 days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

My goodness! These last few days have been tough!, haven't they?! This is the first 30 in 30 challenge that I've participated in where I've missed a couple days. In the past, with the other challenges, I had either been ahead of time or on schedule with my paintings, but recently, I've been missing a few days. It's been really hard trying to keep up: painting and posting every day! Pheeeeewww! I'm exhausted!

Oh-- Great news! I recently found out that two of my paintings got selected for a show at a local art gallery here in Rochester, NY! Yaaaaay! I'm so excited! The show is titled, "Sirens and Seahorses" as that is the theme for the show, and the two works that I submitted, which were accepted, are both paintings of whisical seahorses juxtaposed against a colorful abstract background. I'll show you one of the paintings tomorrow, in my next post.

Anyway, 'Til then fellow art lovers! Take care and God bless!

Today marks the eighteenth day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you not only my eighteenth painting to you, but also my 16th and 17th paintings as well, as I did not post for day 16 and 17.

Why didn't I post? Well, I was sooooooooooo tired! Yes, the last few days have been tough for me. I got over my cold for the most part, but afterwards, I found myself exhausted. The little bit of energy that I had, in the previous days, I have used to take care of (and spend time with) my family. Prioritizing, cooking and cleaning and helping my little ones with homework have to come first, so I used what little bit of energy that I had to take care of them, instead of paint, and when I wasn't taking care of them, I was resting, yes, sleeping! I don't know why I've been so tired, but, so far, today is a better day and I'm able to handle the day without taking a nap (or two).

Anyway, sorry for missing the last couple of days. I'll try to keep up with the rest of the challenge, and maybe I'll paint ahead, for when I have days such as the ones described, in order to have back ups.

I hope you enjoy Day 16, 17, 18's paintings! I painted all three of them today while my little ones were at school. But now, my fellow art lovers, it's time to tend to some chores. I've got laundry to do, dishes to do, dinner cooking to do, and when the little ones get home soon, they'll need help with their homework.

And so . . . Signing off!

"Take care God bless, and 'Til later fellow art lovers!

Day 15 of 30 in 30 : "Red Flowers in Glass Vases"

"Red Flowers in Glass Vases" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 10", Original Painting,  $25+$10.95 Shipping & Handling
Today marks the fifteenth day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you my fifteenth oil painting for the challenge titled "Red Flowers in Glass Vases" !

"Red Flowers in Glass Vases" is the fifteenth oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next 15 days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

Yaaaaaaaay! We are fifteen days into the challenge and that means halfway through! Hoooray! I had a couple set backs with my cold, but I'm feeling so much better now! Yaaay!

I like the simplicity of the composition of today's painting. The objects are minimal and so is the color scheme. I think this one would look great in anyone's bathroom. And, hey, if it doesn't sell, I just might put it in MY bathroom! :)

But hopefully it will sell. And if it does sell, I could always paint it over, again, for myself -- to put in my bathroom, of course! :)

Anyway, thanks
so much for visting my blog today! And a huge thanks to those of you who have been following my blog throughout the entire challenge! Please continue to visit The Blog Of SamDoum Art! I hope to produce some pretty fantastic paintings in the days ahead! Or at least I'll try!

Well, my fellow art lovers, that's all for now! Take care and God bless! 'Til later fellow art lovers! !

Day 2 of 30 in 30 : "Glass on Wooden Table with Red Cloth"

"Glass on Wooden Table with Red Cloth" Oil on Canvas, 8"x10", Original Painting , $50+$10.95 Shipping & Handling
Today marks the second day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am  super pleased and excited to present to you my second oil painting for the challenge titled "Glass on Wooden Table with Red Cloth"!

"Glass on Wooden Table with Red Cloth" is the second oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next 29 days, the all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

This one came out pretty well, I think. I believe that I was not only able to pick up some of the reflections of the red cloth on the glass bottles, very well, but I was also able to capture a lot of the texture of the glass, as not all glass is smooth. All and all I'd say I'm quite pleased. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Please tell me what you think! : Leave a comment in the comments section!

Well, that's all for now. Take care and God bless! 'Til later fellow art lovers!

Two WSIPW Oil Paintings

Original Painting: "Spilt out Cherries":
 8"x10"- Oil on Canvas,  $75+$6.95 S&H USD
Hello everyone!

In my last blog post I mentioned how someone said that all of  the images posted on Facebook during the week before last's WSIPW (What Should I Paint Wednesday) were all beautiful and that I should paint them all. I also told you that I intended to follow that person's advice, and that I would paint them all. So far I've only showed you two of the paintings which were inspired from the week before's WSIPW. Today, however, I am showing you the last and third painting from that week. And as you can see above, it's also a still life oil painting, just like all of my other recent paintings, lately.

Now last week, I posted three new images on Facebook for WSIPW, as well, and after the voting on Facebook, the photograph which inspired this painting below won out!

Original Painting: "Apple, Book, & Leaves":
 8"x10"- Oil on Canvas,  $75+$6.95 S&H USD
Now, today is week 6's WSIPW. So please be sure to do your voting on Facebook today. And then stay tuned to see which image gets selected as the reference photo that I will use to paint from.
I hope you enjoy!

Strawberries On A Plate

Original Painting: "Strawberries On A Plate":
 8"x10"- Oil on Canvas,  $75+$6.95 S&H USD
Hello everyone!

The day before yesterday I showed you an oil painting that I had completed which was drying on my easel.

Well, today's painting is also an oil painting and it is drying on my easel today as well! I am calling this one, simply, "Strawberries On A Plate." You may recognize this image, as the reference photo for this piece was posted on Facebook during last weeks WSIPW, also known as "What Should I Paint Wednesday." Although, after the Facebook voting, the day before yesterday's painting won out, someone mentioned that the images posted on Facebook were all beautiful and that I should paint them all! So I am doing just that . . .
In my next post, I will show you the third image from last week's WSIPW. So stay tuned and enjoy!
