To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

Do you know what today is? . . .  It's our anniversary! (In my "Tony Toni Tone" voice). Yep, Today my husband and I celebrate seven years of marriage! I'm an extremely blessed woman! I love my husband so much, and I thank God for not only placing him in my life as a friend, but also my soul mate. It feels so good to be loved so much by someone who already knows all of your flaws. I have nothing to hide with him and he takes me as is. I never have to pretend to be anyone else with him. He takes me just the way I am. Such a blessing! That's the way true love should be!

Anyway, we plan to spend the day celebrating. I don't know what we will do, or where we will go, but whatever we do or wherever we go, I'm sure it will be fun. Maybe dinner and a movie? It doesn't matter. As long as I do it with him I am one happy woman! :)

My mom will be watching the girls for us tonight while we go out and celebrate. Thank you mom! Love you so much!

Anyway, I really like this little painting a lot. Love the blues, whites, yellows, and greens, and hope that you love them too!

Well folks, that's all for now! Take care fellow art lovers, and have a fantastic day!

My goodness! These last few days have been tough!, haven't they?! This is the first 30 in 30 challenge that I've participated in where I've missed a couple days. In the past, with the other challenges, I had either been ahead of time or on schedule with my paintings, but recently, I've been missing a few days. It's been really hard trying to keep up: painting and posting every day! Pheeeeewww! I'm exhausted!

Oh-- Great news! I recently found out that two of my paintings got selected for a show at a local art gallery here in Rochester, NY! Yaaaaay! I'm so excited! The show is titled, "Sirens and Seahorses" as that is the theme for the show, and the two works that I submitted, which were accepted, are both paintings of whisical seahorses juxtaposed against a colorful abstract background. I'll show you one of the paintings tomorrow, in my next post.

Anyway, 'Til then fellow art lovers! Take care and God bless!

"Monkey Shoulder Glass with Marbles" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 10", Original Painting,  $50+$10.95 Shipping & Handling

Why didn't I post? Well, it's a combination of reasons: between having a lack of energy, to do so, and also being too busy, to do so.

What have I been busy doing? Well, running errands with my hubby . . . helping the girls with homework . . . household chores -- Cooking and cleaning . . . laundry . . . helping my mom with a yard sale . . . attending a birthday party . . .  attending church service . . . bible study . . . the list kinda goes on and on, but you get the idea. And by the time I did get some free time, I was to exhausted too use it. Last night I was so tired that I fell asleep at 6:00 p.m.! But I made up for it, today, as I got up at 4:30 a.m in order to get a head start on working on some of the paintings that I've missed painting during the last two days.

So here are three brand new paintings for you today!: "Arabic Dallah and Persimmons", "Gold Collinder with Tomatoes", & "Monkey Shoulder Glass with Marbles". These three paintings are the 19th, 20th, and 21st paintings in my Metal and Glass series. Over the next 9 days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

I really enjoy all of the reflections in these paintings! I also love how the persimmons came out in the "Arabic Dallah & Persimmons" painting. The marbles in the "Monkey Shoulder Glass with Marbles" came out pretty nice too!  :)

Anyway, thanks so much for visiting my blog today! I really appreciate your haven taking the time to come check out and see what's happening on The Blog of SamDoum Art! It means so much to me. Please keep the comments coming. I really enjoy them and would love to know what you think.

"Red Pepper on Fork" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 10", Original Painting,  $25+$10.95 Shipping & Handling
Today marks the eighteenth day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you not only my eighteenth painting to you, but also my 16th and 17th paintings as well, as I did not post for day 16 and 17.

Why didn't I post? Well, I was sooooooooooo tired! Yes, the last few days have been tough for me. I got over my cold for the most part, but afterwards, I found myself exhausted. The little bit of energy that I had, in the previous days, I have used to take care of (and spend time with) my family. Prioritizing, cooking and cleaning and helping my little ones with homework have to come first, so I used what little bit of energy that I had to take care of them, instead of paint, and when I wasn't taking care of them, I was resting, yes, sleeping! I don't know why I've been so tired, but, so far, today is a better day and I'm able to handle the day without taking a nap (or two).

Anyway, sorry for missing the last couple of days. I'll try to keep up with the rest of the challenge, and maybe I'll paint ahead, for when I have days such as the ones described, in order to have back ups.

I hope you enjoy Day 16, 17, 18's paintings! I painted all three of them today while my little ones were at school. But now, my fellow art lovers, it's time to tend to some chores. I've got laundry to do, dishes to do, dinner cooking to do, and when the little ones get home soon, they'll need help with their homework.

And so . . . Signing off!

"Take care God bless, and 'Til later fellow art lovers!

Yaaaaaaaay! We are fifteen days into the challenge and that means halfway through! Hoooray! I had a couple set backs with my cold, but I'm feeling so much better now! Yaaay!

I like the simplicity of the composition of today's painting. The objects are minimal and so is the color scheme. I think this one would look great in anyone's bathroom. And, hey, if it doesn't sell, I just might put it in MY bathroom! :)

But hopefully it will sell. And if it does sell, I could always paint it over, again, for myself -- to put in my bathroom, of course! :)

Anyway, thanks
so much for visting my blog today! And a huge thanks to those of you who have been following my blog throughout the entire challenge! Please continue to visit The Blog Of SamDoum Art! I hope to produce some pretty fantastic paintings in the days ahead! Or at least I'll try!

I'm posting this
one, like yesterday, more later in the day than when I usually post. I've really had to push myself to paint today, as, as I said yesterday, I've been a little sick. I'm feeling somewhat better, though, and think that I should be fine by tomorrow. Unfortunately, however, while I was trying to recover from my cold, I got my daughter Faith sick, as she caught my cold too. I'm not sure if she'll be well enough to go to school tomorrow, but I'm seeing her in better health today, than she had experienced yesterday.

Anyway, this is today's painting for day 14! Almost halfway there! Pheeeeeeew! It's been a lot of hard work, but I'm hanging in there! :)

Well, that's all for now from SamDoum Art! Take care and God bless! 'Til later fellow art lovers, !

I'm posting this one a little more (well A LOT more) later in the day than when I usually post. That's because I've been battling a cold and have been feeling somewhat under the weather. I don't think it's the flu as I don't have a temperature, but last night I couldn't keep my dinner down.

Any way, Though I posted late, I do thank you for visiting my blog today! I'm not feeling too great but I'm hoping that I can keep up with the rest of the challenge anyway.

is the fifth oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next 25 days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

What do I like most about this painting? Well, I think I like the black background most of all, as black backgrounds in paintings tend to make the painted images "pop" out into space, and also, help to create more depth in the painting. One thing I've learned from going to art school is that dark colors (like the black background) tend to recede. And the lighter, brighter colors (like the silver teapot, pear, and plum) tend to advance out into space. It's a cool painters trick when creating depth is desired.

Secondly,
another thing that I like about this painting are the reflections on the silver teapot which are picked up from the plum and pear.

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy today's painting!

'Til later fellow art lovers! Take care and God bless!

Day 4 of 30 in 30 : "Copper Bowl, Teapot & Glass"

"Copper Bowl, Teapot & Glass" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 10", Original Painting, $50+$10.95 Shipping & Handling

Today marks the fourth day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you my fourth oil painting for the challenge titled "Copper Bowl, Teapot & Glass"!

"Copper Bowl, Teapot & Glass" is the fourth oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next 26 days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

I think that I like the limited color palette in this one. It's somewhat bright and sunny on one side, yet a little dark on the other. I also like the shadows created by the objects.

Over the recent days in this 30 in 30 challenge, I've been trying to discuss at least one good thing that I like about each of my paintings. I'm still learning and developing, as an artist, but I find that taking time to discuss the good things about something, leads to self-confidence, and in my case better paintings! :)

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy today's painting! Please keep stopping by. I really appreciate all of the visits from my fellow art  lovers, and I especially appreciate the comments! :)

Talk to ya soon!

'Til later fellow art lovers! Take care and God bless!

Day 3 of 30 in 30 : "Flowers in a Vase"

"Flowers in a Vase" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 8", Original Painting , $50+$10.95 Shipping & Handling
Today marks the third day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you my third oil painting for the challenge titled "Flowers in a Vase"!

"Flowers in a Vase" is the third oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next 28 days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

So far, I think my little "Metal and Glass" collection is coming out great! And I just love this little 8"x 8" square painting. I love the warm, saturated red and yellow colors of the flowers contrasted with the more cooler purple colored flowers. And I just love how this black background makes those colors "pop" out into the foreground of this painting. :)

The reflections were minimal in this piece, but I think the result is simple, yet, elegant! What do you think?
