Day 3 of 30 in 30 : "Flowers in a Vase"

"Flowers in a Vase" Oil on Canvas, 8"x 8", Original Painting , $50+$10.95 Shipping & Handling
Today marks the third day of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Painting Challenge! And I am super pleased and excited to present to you my third oil painting for the challenge titled "Flowers in a Vase"!

"Flowers in a Vase" is the third oil painting still life in my "Metal and Glass" series. Over the next 28 days, all of the subject matters for my paintings will consist of either metal or glass or both. To learn more about why I chose "Metal and Glass" as my theme for the challenge click here!

So far, I think my little "Metal and Glass" collection is coming out great! And I just love this little 8"x 8" square painting. I love the warm, saturated red and yellow colors of the flowers contrasted with the more cooler purple colored flowers. And I just love how this black background makes those colors "pop" out into the foreground of this painting. :)

The reflections were minimal in this piece, but I think the result is simple, yet, elegant! What do you think?

Talk to ya soon!

'Til later fellow art lovers! Take care and God bless!

  1. I agree 100%, the black background truly makes the flowers POP! Love paintings using black backgrounds. These flowers are so pretty. Do I see a Zinnia in there? As a little girl, my mum and I always planted zinnias from seed. They grow so super nice - even if you don't have a green thumb. See ya for day #4.

    1. Yes, there are two zinnia's. And I like black backgrounds too. Will definitely try to do some more paintings with back backgrounds. Thank you so much!
